The Rev. Dr. James Baylark is first and foremost an ordained Baptist preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is the humble Pastor of First Community Baptist Church in Desert Hot Springs, California. He comes from a long history of preachers and activists.
Dr. Baylark served his country in the United State Army at Fort Riley Kansas and was honorably discharged. He has been the recipient of hundreds of awards, medals, and certificates; Role Model of The Year, SCLC Chapter of The Year, Who’s Who in America, Pastor of The Month, Man of The Year, Angel Tree Award, NAACP Freedom Fighter Award, Lorrain Watt's Community Involvement Award, NAACP Religious Award, and in 2007 received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Life Time Achievement Award.
